Honestly it was surreal getting to dive into Phil's process and learn from him every step. The atmosphere SoundAdvice curated was very welcoming, laid-back and friendly. It felt like we were one giant family, which made it so hard to say goodbye at the end! I think the coolest thing about the entire event was how we got to talk to Phil so openly and candidly outside of the studio. We got to learn more about him as he shared stories from his career and interesting things about himself. From a technical standpoint, I picked up so many new tricks and techniques. I’m definitely a better engineer now than when I was going into the event!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I'd be sitting in the same room as the former engineer of Jimi Hendrix, led Zeppelin, and Kiss, but thanks to the great people at SoundAdvice I got this opportunity to learn from one of my heroes. He's always been an inspiration for my mixing techniques and learning firsthand gave me a greater insight into the techniques he uses and I will now be applying to my own mixes and recordings.
